Lucy Kemp-Welch is one of the gallery visitors' favourite artists.
Her painting Winter's White Silence was recently chosen as the most popular painting in the Gallery, so it's perhaps no surprise that another Kemp-Welch painting has a special place in the collection.

The Friends (FLAG) purchased Old Grey Mare with her Foal for the Gallery.(listen to the gallery talk about the painting here:
It's a lovely little study of a mare and foal by Kemp-Welch, who is particularly famous for her paintings of horses.
One of the things we love about being Friends is knowing that we've helped put works like this into the Gallery's collection for everyone to enjoy.
