Friday Focus - Ambulances for Ukraine

This weeks Friday Focus (23rd Jan) was given by Susan Rasmussen. She told us about her drive from Leamington to the Ukraine border in May in an ambulance organised by Belvedere, the charitable arm of the local Polish Centre, which was set up after the invasion of 2022
They are now fundraising for other desperately-needed ambulances, and have arranged an exhibition in All Saints' Church, Victoria Terrace, Leamington from 3rd Feb to 3rd March 2026. On her trip Sue noticed how much blue and yellow there is surrounding us in life and began taking pictures.

Blue and yellow are the official colours of the Ukrainian flag adopted in 1992. It symbolizes a bright blue sky over golden wheat fields, representing peace and the country's agricultural wealth.

The photographs that will be on display also includes work by Ira Sozanska, and they will be hung alongside testimonies from Ukrainians living in the UK.

Times of the exhibition are on the leaflet below.
